Sonny Smith- is an Award Producer, Director, Actor, Writer, Comedian, Media Personality, Entreprenuer, Educator and Former Professional Basketball Player born on the Southside of Chicago, Illinois, now residing in Southern California area.
Sonny is the Creator, Executive Producer, Director & writer and star of the award winning web series "Dating Like A Dyke" a relationship comedy series based on Sonny's real life experience of being married for 10 years to a narcissistic partner, whom she would later divorce. Sonny also created executively producer, directed another web series - STEELE GREY- a legal drama original series on LouddMouthTV Network. Sonny stars as attorney Steele Grey from a small town called Justice County, Ga (fictitiously set between Savannah & Atlanta) were she is prosecuting her Aunt's murderers in a crime gone wrong.
Sonny attended & graduated from Kenwood Academy in Chicago, received a full scholarships to attend Palm Beach CC in Florida and transferred to SCAD where she received a Bachelors in Fine Arts where she also received Dean's List Honors in her major. Sonny played basketball for Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) after transferring from Palm Beach her sophomore year and went on to receive MVP honors as well as ranking in NCAA Div III in rebounding and scoring.
Sonny enrolled in the Masters Program at SCAD for Media & Performing Arts with an emphasis in Performance until her professional basketball career led her to play professionally in Umea, Sweden & Reze, France. Sonny would also have a brief stint with the now defunct ABL (invites to play for two time champions Columbus Quest as a replacement player) & the WNBA as a free agent during the early development in the league with two different WNBA expansion teams - Minnesota Lynx & Orlando Pride before league lockouts and injuries would deter here to relinquishing play.
Sonny also has two Masters Degrees from Keller Graduate School of Devry University a Masters in Project Management (2012) and a MBA in Marketing (2016).
Sonny has also developed and built her own multimedia startup under the brand "LouddMouth" which specializes in creative marketing, branding, internet small business network on LouddMouth.com , online media networks (LouddMouthTV & LouddMouthRadio) over the last 10+ years. Notably recognized as the 1st African American Female to own and operate a comedy club/movie theatre in South Metro Atlanta called the "LouddMouth Screening Room" which at the time (2010-2012) was only 1 of 4 black owned comedy clubs in the U.S in operation. Her radio network LouddMouthradio.com has been running since 2013.
